About the Workshop
In the week-long faerie Sex Magick Workshop, using heart circles, we explore deeper levels of emotional intimacy, group communication, and affirmative consent. We call for authenticity in all expressions, including erotic touch, sexual healing, and mutual liberation.
The workshop is intended to explore deeper levels of emotional and physical intimacy than might be possible in other faerie spaces. Within the structure and safety the workshop, we create a container to allow us to explore the edges of our desire and to realize the fullness of our healing potential.
What to expect during the faerie Sex Magick workshop
- Coming to the workshop means committing to stay to the end. If a participant leaves the workshop, they cannot reenter that container. If someone does leave, the group processes their departure before continuing with the regular process.
- Sex Magick is an alcohol and substance-free space, apart from prescribed medications.
- A nonparticipant faerie, whom we call a dragon, usually cares for us by cooking meals while we circle – amazing faerie love! – and serves as a buffer with the outside world so we can focus on the group dynamics in isolation.
For me it was an intense yet safe space to really slow down and notice…
I did Sex Magick last week. My mind is blown. I really wish I had done it in my early 20’s- it would have saved me a lot of grief and difficulty in communicating with other queer men. For me it was an intense yet safe space to really slow down and notice how I communicate and don’t communicate about how I feel in the moment about touch, sex, desire and connection. There was a lot of space to play and practice at asking the questions I never felt comfortable asking and stating my boundaries and edges that I always felt were too impolite to state. There was also the magic of consciously attempting to create an “us” out of a diverse (in many different ways) group of individuals and seeing how that worked. I highly recommend it to all queer (I’m using this term because trans men are welcome) men.
I feel so much gratitude to the facilitators, to Chas and the others who have kept this workshop alive, to all the past participants and gratitude to Harry Hay who saw the need for it and opportunity in it.

I’ve done it twice, it was transformative both times…
I’ve done [the Faerie Sex Magick Workshop] twice, it was transformative both times, and it’s done on a low cost, almost volunteer basis by people who have been cultivating these spaces and this technology for over 30 years now. If you want to explore consent, trust, intimacy, and play in a sacred and deep way with other male-identified fae (most or all of whom will be strangers to you when you go in and will become something more by the time you leave), check it out.

A call to shared intimacy and emotional work
Faerie Sex Magick is a call to shared intimacy and emotional work, to build community and grow our erotics selves and connections by learning to better see and witness each other. Over seven days, up to eighteen participants commit to sit together in heart circle with the intention of working toward consensual erotic touch before entering into what radical faerie founder Harry Hay referred to as ritual space.
What ritual space looks like – and if we enter it at all – is unique to how each individual workshop unfolds. Every workshop is an experiment: what happens is not predetermined, but a kind of mystery we make together. Transformative experiences are rooted in deep, authentic mutual safety and radical trust, the spell upon which this magical seven day container is co-created. Three facilitators guide the overall process while also participating in the workshop.
A gatekeeping process ensures that the workshop is a good fit by clarifying individual intentions, expectations, and commitment.
Making the workshop available to more people
Historically the workshop has been open to faeries who identify as men who love men. But the workshop is also evolving, and we know that people – including many faeries who have attended the workshop in the past — identify on a gender spectrum. We are working with our faerie communities to create more gender-inclusive workshops, including full spectrum or all-gender workshops.
We also take “men who love men” to mean any participants who identify in part or whole with this description. Ultimately the question of whether you feel like you are a good fit for the workshop is something to be figured out in a gatekeeping conversation.

Workshop Stages
169 workshops are open to participants who are coming to their first Sex Magick or are repeating. 269 workshops are for participants who have participated in a 169 during the last three years.
NOTAFLOF
The workshop is NOTAFLOF – No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds. We don’t want finances to be a barrier to the participation in the workshop.
We do ask you to consider what you might spend on food for the 7+ days, and contribute that. More if you can. Also, in the faerie tradition, you should participate fully without the expectation that asking for NOTAFLOF will require anything more from you.
In the spirit of another faerie tradition, if you have the resources to contribute to NOTAFLOF, please do, either using the button below or increasing the payment amount for workshop.
